Doctor Who

The longest running sci-fi tv show is Doctor Who. Doctor Who has been on since 1963. Since then there has been around 13 regenerations and 12 doctors. Since David Tennant (the tenth doctor) regenerated twice. Doctor Who is my absolute favorite sci-fi tv show. With all the companions and doctors it is one of the best ever tv programs.

The first ever doctor was played by William Hartnell in 1963. Sadly in 1966 William got really sick and couldn't continue. The directors said that since he was an alien they could have him become a new person or a new actor. This became known as regeneration. Next it was Patrick Troughton from 1966-1969. Jon Pertwee from 1970-1974 as the third doctor. In 1974 Tom Baker became the fourth Doctor, that lasted till 1981. Peter Davison, fifth Doctor, 1982-1984. Colin Baker as the sixth Doctor in 1984-1986. Sylvester McCoy as the seventh Doctor from 1987-1989. In 1996 Paul McGann played the eighth Doctor. Later in 2005 Christopher Eccleston picked up Doctor who as the ninth Doctor. Now David Tennant is the tenth doctor from 2005-2010. Matt Smith became the youngest Doctor in 2010 till 2013 as the eleventh Doctor. Currently Peter Capildi is the Twelfth Doctor from 2013-2016.
Sadly I don't think there will be new season 10 for Doctor who this year. But I do know that it will start again in 2017. Currently Steven Moffat has been the writer for this and he has said that he will retire after season 10 in 2017. So we just lost Jenna Coleman who played as a companion and we're losing Peter Capildi, and now Steven. Wow they sure are replacing lots of people. Anyway Doctor who is an amazing show and o absolutely love it!

Nelle Harper Lee

Hello everyone, so today I was feeling sad about Nelle Harper Lee. She was an amazing writer who lived a good life and tragically died at age 89. She died on February 19, 2016. Harper was most famous for her book “To Kill a Mockingbird.” She published this amazing book on July 11, 1960.  She also wrote “Go Set a Watchman.”

In “To Kill a Mockingbird” the story was written in Scouts perspective. Scout lived with her older brother Jem and her dad, Atticus Finch. Scout and Jem live in a small town so not much happens. The only thing in their town that puzzles them is one of their close neighbors Arthur Radley, who's nickname is Boo. Scout is a tomboy who solves her problems with her fists. Atticus, their father, being a lawyer brings them some interesting encounters. This is one of my all time favorite books. The way it is described is just amazing. Each time I read this book I love it even more.

The Wizard of Oz

Hello everyone, welcome back to my blog. This blogs theme is The Wizard of Oz. This movie originally came out in August 25, 1939. This movie stars Judy Garland (Dorothy), Ray Bolger (Hunk the Scarecrow), Jack Haley (The Tin Man), Bert Lahr ( The cowardly Lion), and Billie Burke (Glinda). This wonderful movie that has won 2 Oscars, 2 Academy Awards, and others. It is rated an outstanding 8.1 out of 10.

The movie starts off with Dorothy in Kansas with her dog Toto. Dorothy and Toto end up getting stuck inside Dorothy’s house, surrounded by a tornado. She hits her head on something and ends up in the land of Oz. Here she met Glinda, the good witch. Dorothy tells Glinda about what happened and Glinda tells her about the Wizard and how to get to him. “Follow the yellow brick road” she told Dorothy. Along the way Dorothy met some interesting characters. Which end up being some very memorable friends. With them along side her it makes her journey very special. So when she does get to the Wizard she can go home knowing that they got their wishes too. Her new friends with a Brain, Heart, and Courage.
