Introduction

Hello, so this is my first blog and this blog is going to be about classics …Yay. Okay so my name is Winona and I love classic movies, books, and TV programs. So I first got into classics a couple of years ago and have loved them ever since. The first classic I ever watched was a very funny TV show called Gilligan’s Island. It is a show about seven people who were stranded on an uncharted island, after a really bad storm that over took their boat. The seven people were the Skipper, Gilligan, the professor, Ginger, Mary Ann, Thurston Howell the III, and his wife, Lovey.

The skipper was the captain of the ship, that they were touring on but it took a little detour. Gilligan was the first mate who always wound up getting into a whole lot of trouble, later on in one of their many attempts to get off the island they found out that Gilligan was the one who caused the accident that stranded them. The professor was a very smart science teacher who learned a lot on the island. Ginger was a famous movie star who had red hair, ginger is a person who has red hair so I think that’s where they got her name. Mary Ann was a farmer girl who was raised in Kansas and has a very caring personality. The Howells are millionaires, thanks to the stock market, they are very wealthy people who don’t believe in work. This whole accident started with a three hour tour. This show is a very funny comedy from 1964 and 1965. After I watched the first episode I spent the next week watching all of the other 97 episodes, a total of 98 episodes. After about five episodes I had memorized the theme song. I can’t really say if I have a favorite episode because I like them all, but I really like the episode “not guilty” it was about a Honolulu newspaper saying that one of the castaways was a suspect of murder and then the castaways solved the murder. As I was watching the TV episodes I realized that it was a very popular island for being uncharted. Up to this day I still watch all the reruns of Gilligan’s island because there just so good. Well better be careful next time you go on a three hour tour.

xx stay classic, Winona xx

  1. Wow, I love Gilligan's Island too! What a simpler, classic time that was, the sixties. I can't wait, to see what you have in store for us.
